Lila was a bit unsure of the whole portrait session deal at first but her brothers helped show her how it’s done.
As you may know, I’ve been scaling back a bit on wedding photography over the last couple of years. Twenty plus years in the wedding photography biz and I still LOVE weddings – they do take their toll, though. Long hours, weekends away from family, the day after body aches, editing long into the night almost every night and a very competitive, saturated market has had me not turning down weddings but not really seeking them out, either. I’ve been focused on creating a business I love photographing families, babies and high school seniors. Weddings like this though … they’ll keep me with a “toe dipped in the water” for some time. I just loved everything about Rick and Shelby’s wedding at Richards- Hart Estate in Wheat Ridge, CO! The couple. The venue. The families. The intimate ceremony. The details. I could go on and on but the pictures tell the story. Here are a few of my favorites from the day…
We pulled out all the stops for Sam’s senior Pictures in Denver last weekend – two photographers, three locations, several outfit changes & one very large prop – that beautiful cello! He is our nephew, after all and flew in from Michigan just for this so, yeah we went a little “over and above”! What an awesome, talented, handsome guy!
It was nice working with Paul, on this! Paul is my husband, business partner and a commercial photographer. We photograph Denver Senior Pictures very differently but our styles compliment each other well.
Sam had great ideas, a great attitude and came bearing gifts – he even sweet talked his mom into a sushi dinner for everyone, including my kiddos who had never tried sushi and ended up quite liking it! Here are a few of my favorite images from the day!
