I had the most sentimental experience – I photographed a wedding in the backyard of the first house my husband and I bought together. It’s where I started my family and brought my first born home. I watched my husband put in a patio one summer and Erin & Doug just got married on it! Honestly, I’ve never seen that yard look more beautiful. It started sprinkling during the ceremony – coincidently right about the time vows were being said about “dark clouds” and “rainbows”. By the time the ceremony ended and we were ready to do group shots it was downright pouring. So much, in fact that I headed in (my camera can get damp but it’s not great to have it out in pouring rain). When I turned around the bride and groom were still hanging out in the rain. I LOVE these two! So someone found me an umbrella and we laughed when it imploded and then just kept shooting portraits. The rain could have been the story but it wasn’t because of Erin and Doug’s attitude that it really wasn’t a big deal. I think they are going to weather the “storms of life” just fine and find plenty of rainbows!
