Cake Smash Session Arvada
I’ve said this many times before but oh man, one year old’s are the BEST! You guys, they are just so sweet and cute and (most of the time) easy to photograph. Olivia was no exception and I was so excited to photograph her on her actual first birthday. The very day!
I started out lighting her portraits to bring in the lake in the background but every time my strobe lights went off she blinked so I quickly switched to natural light. This made for a happier baby and beautiful (just different) lighting! This might be my favorite – Olivia smiling at her mommy and daddy, off camera.I don’t know though, these are pretty cute, too! She’s not quite walking but she’s got the crawling thing down pat.
One year old kiddos take in the world around them and it’s delightful to follow them around with a camera and see what they see.We saved the cake for last (like any reasonable cake smash photographer would), Olivia looks like she’s saying, “bring it on!”.One year old cake smash sessions are fun to photograph, you never know if the baby is going to dive right in or be completely dainty about the whole thing. Olivia was in the dainty camp ( :Oh Geez, so adorable. Happy, Happy Birthday!
Senior Session Prospect Park Wheat Ridge
I had a lot of fun photographing Mallory’s Senior Session at Prospect Park! It’s a beautiful open space that runs along Clear Creek with tall grasses, trees, lakes, bridges, fences and much more. Basically, there is an endless array of natural backdrops that are perfect for Senior Sessions!
I love Mallory’s smile but sometimes I ask for serious looks, too!Candids are the best!I could photograph all day long at Prospect Park but I wanted to give Mallory some different looks so we headed over to the Wheat Ridge Historical Park for a few images. So glad we did, I really love these!I call this spot, “Grandma’s Front Porch”. And if you know me you know I can never turn down the opportunity to use a barn as a backdrop!
Adobe is a pretty awesome backdrop, too!We headed back to Prospect Park for this outfit that goes great along the trail, on the bridge and by the river. This spot almost looks like a waterfall with the rapids.I never know exactly what wildflowers will be blooming along the Clear Creek Greenbelt but it doesn’t really matter, they are all just lovely!Sometimes the things in bloom go perfectly with a particular outfit like the pink blossom next to Mallory’s jean jacket with pink flowers. Mallory absolutely rocked her senior session – I loved her outfits, her smile and her great attitude!
South Mesa Trailhead in Boulder was the perfect location for Nate’s Senior Pictures. There are Beautiful views of the Flatirons here plus boulder creek, a wooden bridge and historic building that make for super cool backdrops. We hiked a little farther up the trail then I normally do and so worth it for the incredible vistas!

RINO Senior Pictures Denver
For Brynn’s Senior Session we started with a few classic senior poses, RiNo, Denver’s River North Art District isn’t just about the murals (although that’s certainly what people think of first) there are lots of other looks in this part of town if you want variety. It’s always a good idea to start with a few classic portraits for your parents and grandparents.
You can be right up against the wall art or step away a bit to get a cool urban art vibe in the background. Brynn was a natural in front of the camera which made my job a breeze! It started getting late so we were chasing the light but found a few great spots facing the setting sun.
Ha! Our sunset session turned into a night session so in these last few shots we got creative with available light! I always carry a flash with me but prefer to find more interesting solutions, whenever possible. I love how these turned out!Yep, it’s official. Brynn rocked her senior session!
