Look who’s one year old!
I had the pleasure of photographing this little guy on his first birthday. SUCH a happy baby – he stole my heart, for sure!
I think this session has a nice mix of traditional portraits and lifestyle images. You know me, I love BOTH! Happy, looking at the camera, smiling shots are my “bread and butter” but when I can coach a family to ignore me and just be with each other – well, those expressions make my day. I hope they make yours, too!
Kara and her husband were so fun to work with! We started out in the studio with some classic black and white (and color) images, then headed to the park for that gorgeous “magic hour” light that works so well for pregnancy photos. Okay, magic hour works well for ANY photography but especially nice for pregnancy portraits, don’t you think?
A sleepy newborn is always easiest to photograph! When baby is in a deep sleep I can put her in all of those adorable, curled up newborn poses. Patience is key for sure as most babies don’t do naptime on demand. Not so with Lydia – she was asleep when I arrived and easily transitioned into several different “looks”, all the while keeping her easygoing attitude. Such a sweetie! As you can see, big sister is equally charming and kept me entertained in between “takes”!
